The Tamaskan Wolfdog is a rare breed of dog, originating from Finland. The Tamaskan is a mix of different types of Arctic breeds, including Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky. Original Arctic mixes were imported from the USA and selective breeding started in the early 80’s. The aim was to selectively breed those dogs with a wolf-like look. The word ‘Tamaskan’ means ‘mighty wolf’ or ’strong wolf’.
