A nest box (or nestbox) is a man-made box provided for animals to nest in. Nest boxes are most frequently utilized for wild and domestic birds, but certain species of mammal may also use them.
Boxes are usually wooden, though some for birds are made from mixtures of wood and concrete, called woodcrete. Metal nest boxes are also marketed, but these are generally unsuitable for outdoor use, as they can overheat easily in sunshine. read full article…

Tame Silver Foxes are the results of nearly 50 years of experiments in Russia to domesticate the Silver Fox. Notably, the foxes did not only become more tame, but more dog-like as well: the new foxes lost their distinctive musky “fox smell”, became more friendly with humans, put their ears down (like dogs), wagged their tails when happy and began to vocalize and bark like domesticated dogs. Take Your Dog to Work Day (sometimes abbreviated as TYDTWDay) was first started on June 25, 1999 in the United States and in 1996 in the United Kingdom. It is hosted by Pet Sitters International and, in the United States, falls on June 23 in the year 2006. PSI claims that the objectives of the day include: making pet adoptions more common by placing less of a burden on the owner, “facilitating positive interactions” between employees at the workplace, and helping businesses cooperate with local animal shelters to increase the number of adoptions. It is estimated that thousands of companies, called “pet-friendly” companies by some, participated in 2006. There is also a high level of participation in TYDTWDay in Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, and New Zealand, although it is not necessarily celebrated on the same day as in the United States. read full article…
A Stud Master is an individual responsible for an employer’s breeding stock, the term is usually used of dogs or horses. It is usually applied regardless of gender; the term ‘Stud Mistress’ is rarely seen.
The Stud Master typically suggests desired matings to the owner, and arranges for the same, whether in-house or by contract with animals standing at stud, approves and arranges matings to the owner’s animals at stud requested by outsiders, and keeps all records, including notifying the appropriate animal registries. read full article…
