seductive "Softcore" DVD's available.

(makers of the classic "CITY GIRLS" series in the 1990's)
Set in very high class surroundings, this is high gloss
entertainment at it's best.
Each girl does a solo striptease, plus there's two
girl/girl vignettes. Ginger Jolie and Jamie Lynn
(wearing some very hot lingerie and stockings), plus
Jessie Capelli and Ginger Jolie in a sizzling stairs
scene that gives some of the best rear veiws of these
two girls that you could ever imagine.
With flawless picture quality, excellent close up shots
and four incredibly hot models, it surely rates as one
of the best "PET OF THE YEAR" shows to date.
Very highly recommended.

Summary: Slight improvement over POTY 2005 Playoff
Comment: I agree with "thecollegebum" that this title is an improvement over the Playoff title from the same year. It is a bit more explicit, but nowhere near the 1999-2004 "golden era", as thecollegebum calls it.
I also agree that Martina Warren would definitely not have been my choice to receive the POY award, although I am sure she will appeal to plenty of guys who like blonde bombeshells. To me, she is just too much of a stereotypical Barbie doll. And when she opens her mouth, oh my, oh my... If you want to see a real girl behind all those blonde jokes, look at Martina. That's her!
My main complaint, however, is that too many things in this film are REPETITIVE (and hence become boring soon). The same kind of lingerie all over. The same hairstyles all over. The same poses all over. The same (tame) action in GG scenes all over. The same style of furnishing all over. The same kind of music all over. Call it lack of creativity. At times, I felt the purpose of this video was not to arouse you, but to put you to sleep.
All in all, I give it two stars for reasons explained above.

Comment: Penthouse Pet of the Year 2005
Starring: Martina Warren, Ginger Jolie, Jamie Lynn, and Jesse Capelli.
Penthouse was dead and buried. Their last great hurrah came and went with their Pet of the Year 2004 feature, which managed to be the only bright spot in a sea of mediocrity containing titles like College Girls, South of the Border, Sweet Chocolate, Aria's House of Extacy, and Blonde Bombshells. Penthouse had a chance to show that they could still produce a quality feature with plenty of sizzle and softcore that pushed the boundaries with the 2005 Play-Off DVD, but alas they failed. The feature was boring, poorly edited, and took us back to the mid-ninties in terms of explicitness for a Penthouse production. It was weak.
Now we have the 2005 Pet of the Year feature. While nowhere near the home run the 2004 POTY disk was (let alone any POTY feature from 1999 onwards), this one is easily the best DVD Penthouse has produced since then. The production values are certainly higher here, despite being shot all in the same house. The picture's nice and clear, the background music's not too annoying, and the disk actually has a couple of bonus features. While there's the standard slideshow section, there's also a sixteen minute "behind the scenes" featurette. This is really nice since you get to hear the girls talk a bit along with them showing some extra nudity. : )
The main feature consists of an intro, seven scenes, and the closing credits. There was definitely a little thought put into the layout and content of these scenes. I've been critical about Penthouse's balance when it comes to their girls on previous features. Sometimes one girl is used too much or doesn't have a solo or girl-girl scene. Here, everyone gets their shot. We start out with a solo of Martina on the couch, after which she's joined by Jesse and Jamie. Then we get Ginger at the base of the stairs solo -joined soon after by Martina. Jamie Lynn gets her solo scene in the living room followed by Jesse in the bath. Next, Ginger and Jamie have some fun in the bedroom, followed by a solo scene featuring Martina in front of the fireplace. The disk closes out with Ginger and Jesse on the stairs.
These scenes are much harder than the 2005 Play-Off flick. There's a lot more kissing and nipple licking here, as well as a lot more pink. We also get some decent close-ups. Some of these scenes feature some pretty hard rubbing, but there's no clear finger penetration like in 1999-2004 golden era. The girl-girl stuff is also pretty tame compared to previous features (such as the 2004 POTY, Pets in Paradise I & II, and Dear Diary films). The girls' hair usually blocks everything from sight. In Martina and Ginger's brief "sixty-nine" scene, you can clearly see that their tongues aren't touching anything, as well as Ginger's closing scene with Jesse.
Despite the softer result, this feature actually has some nice moments of genuine eroticism. There's some decent teasing from all the girls, and they all seem to really get into it. For example -in Martina's opening solo, it's pretty obvious she's excited when the camera gives us a good close-up shot. The girls all appear to be relatively fresh too -as in they aren't seasoned porn stars like Cheyenne Silver, Ava Vincent, or Devon. They also appear to be silicone-free, which is a really good thing. An interesting note here is the cast itself: none of these girls -except Martina-appeared in the 2005 Play-Off. Lany Barbie, Jassie Lewis, and Natalia Cruze are nowhere to be found. However, all three replacements are so naturally beautiful that I don't really mind at all.
As for Penthouse's choice for Pet of the Year, I disagree. She's the least pretty of the four girls on this disk and appears to have something weird going on with her eyes from time-to-time. The choice becomes even stranger after watching the behind-the-scenes feature as she also comes off as having the most vapid personality of the group. For my money Ginger Jolie or Jamie Lynn would have made a much better choice.
I still miss the good old days with Guccione, but judging by the jump up from the Play-Off movie with this release, maybe we'll be back to where we were in 2004 by the time next year's POTY DVD is released. I'd give this 3 ½ stars out of five, but I'll settle for the three Amazon will let me post.
Pros: Silicone-free women, no porn stars, a horny Martina on a couch, a real bonus feature, and a faint glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel for Penthouse fans. Could this be the first step on the road to recovery?
Cons: Scenes feel too short, editing obviously cuts off before a few "finger" shots, Martina seems the wrong choice for POTY, girl-girl scenes extremely soft, not enough rear shots, feature runs only 56 minutes total, Guccione not directing.
